How would you describe your role?

In my role as Business Manager, and I handle an array of essential internal administrative operations. I’m responsible for making sure things run smoothly for Denamico team members and am the liaison for the executive leadership team. I’m the point of contact for HR, office management, and accounting and sales support.

What aspects of your role do you enjoy the most?

It’s a multifaceted role, and every day brings on a new challenge! I like the variety and chance to put a lot of my skills and interests to use in a valuable way. The company has a lot of opportunities, so I enjoy bringing in my experience from previous roles to help make Denamico a great place to work.

What are three words to describe Denamico?

My first impression would be: dynamic, curious, and humane. There is a lot of energy and drive to make things happen, and people are really open and curious to learn new things and from each other. Everyone is friendly and human-centered, both in our interactions with each other and with our clients. It’s really refreshing, especially for a high-growth company!

Before working at Denamico, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I really enjoyed working for a large German pharmaceutical company in Berlin after I got my MBA. My job was running global leadership development programs for executives and emerging leaders, and I had the chance to travel extensively while creating new development opportunities for the company. I was one of just a few foreigners working there as well, so it was a steep learning curve. It was an exciting time in the city, with so many changes happening, and so much to explore.

Any random facts you could share with us?

I lived in Europe and worked internationally for several years, and returned to the US during a pandemic, recession, and socio-political upheaval. What a change! There is so much about the US to discover and re-learn, I sometimes feel like a foreigner all over again!  I have a list of terms and phrases I don’t know, even though I’m a native speaker. And I’m learning how many phone apps there are - something for everything, it’s a lot to take in!

Do you have a favorite quote?

My motto is “never give up”, best said in a Winston Churchill voice! There are always options to explore and different ways to try things. One person’s opinion is not the truth, only their truth, and I believe it’s important to figure out the best solution for the situation. I’ve had to maneuver through a lot of tough situations, and perseverance has been a key trait that has helped me.

If you could witness any historical event, what would you want to see?

I’d love to visit the 1920’s! It seems like there were so many inventions, people were open to changes, modern conveniences were becoming more common, and the world was largely at peace. It’d be a fascinating time to experience.

What is an ability you wish you had?

I wish I had more athletic ability! I really appreciate athletes and the way they use their bodies to perform amazing feats of strength, endurance, or flexibility. I’m always amazed by the artistic athletes like gymnasts and figure skaters, and how they can create art with the most deceptively simple movements. It looks so easy, but it takes so much work and dedication!
