We chat about blogging and creating content, a lot. It's what we do as content marketers. But beyond indexing new pages for your website and gaining SEO traction on Google, are your business blogs actually being sought out by potential customers?

HubSpot's latest report suggests that more people desire content through social media channels these days. While marketers are focused on growing SEO and creating new blog posts, our readers are increasingly skipping search engines in the hunt for content.

The Decentralized Content Marketing Playbook infographic below highlights the importance of catching consumers where they live online. And a growing number of people are turning to social media to gain information, view videos, check reviews, and connect with brands.

Does this mean the blog is dead?

No way.

But the numbers do indicate that we need to be aware of changes to online behavior. Specifically, with our buyer personas. To convert more traffic, leads, and sales, it may be time to rehash those old personas to see where and how they currently access information.

That way, we can augment our content delivery systems more efficiently, get more eyes on all of our content, and add more value for our prospects and customers using multiple publishing platforms beyond a website and blog.
