After the fog of the election lifted yesterday, INBOUND breakout sessions filled the day. Denamico inbounders scattered throughout the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center to gain industry insights and actionable tips related to their roles back home.

INBOUND16 Highlights

Amy Weaver, Denamico's Marketing Automation Manager, was especially impressed with Nick Salvatoriello's session on organizing a messy CRM. Here's what Amy had to say:

amy.jpg"My favorite session by far was Chaos Under Control: How to Organize a Messy Contacts Database to Market More Effectively. There were too many actionable items to list right now, but here's the gist: Cleansing the CRM should be a priority and something that's done regularly because more contacts in an optimized database = more opportunities to close."

Kristin Dennewill, our CEO, noted a common theme in the sessions and by keynote speakers:

kristin-1.jpg"The rate of change is not going to diminish anytime soon. As Gary Vaynerchuk pointed out on Tuesday, there is so much innovation that is happening today and companies need to embrace change as a way of life in order to survive and thrive. Darmesh Shah from HubSpot (pictured above) echoed this sentiment in his keynote as well: Fall in Love with Change."

Melinda Rieck, Senior Strategy Manager, had this to say about her biggest learning thus far:

melinda.jpg"Changing your message has the biggest impact. Let your prospects tell your story. It will say the same or similar message, but in a way that is moving to them. Here's a powerful example."

My two cents:

brendon.jpgHaving a role in sales, I was particularly interested in Steve McKenzie's discussion – Inbound Sales + Account Based Selling: Friends, Foes or Frenemies? – and how top sales teams are using both approaches to leverage technologies and processes that align with the buyer’s journey, not the seller's goals.
